Advanced Cave: Stage/ Multi-Stage Diver
Program Purpose
The purpose of the Advanced Cave: Stage / Multi-Stage Diver course is to provide advanced training in cave diving skills to the experienced, certified, responsible cave divers who wish to conduct dives that warrant staging and multiple staging techniques.
Further, it expose cave divers to conservation concerns and ethical responsibilities that present themselves during stage/multiple stage dives, whether it be for decompression, extended penetration, safety, or team planning.
Program Prerequisites
Certifications requirements: Candidate must hold an IANTD Technical Cave Diver certification or equivalent
Age requirement: Candidate must be a minimum or 18 years of age
Dive experience: Candidate must provide proof of a minimum of 25 logged cave dives.
Program Requirements
Candidates must complete:
– A minimum of 240 minutes of in cave stage-multi-stage bottom time
– Four (4) advanced cave stage-multi-stage dives
Program Content
Lecture includes but is not limited to:
– Motives, risks, and hazards for stage-multi-stage diving.
– Rigging and transport of stage cylinders in a streamlined manner.
– Procedures and techniques for stage-multi-stage diving.
– Task loading and planning needs for stage-multi-stage diving.
– Conservation considerations for stage handling, min. overhead environment impact, considerations for the increased range of impact.
– Reasons for stage-multi-stage diving (safety gas, different gases, and penetration distances).
Program Duration
Minimum of four (4) days
Note:
We teach the Adv. Cave: Stage-Multi-Stage Diver program following the standards of IANTD (International Association of Nitrox and Technical Divers).
