The Chac Mool system offers two spectacular cenote dives for divers at all levels. These cenotes feature everything a cenote dive should have.

We start with a dive in CENOTE KUKULCAN (Level 1). Kukulcan, also known as the feathered or plumed serpent god, was associated with the religion and mythology of Mesoamerica, specifically the Yucatec Maya, and is related to the belief that he was a creator who brought rain and winds.

This cenote is known for its breathtaking curtain of lights (only visible in the morning). The deeper area of the dive goes through a strong halocline. A halocline is where fresh and salt water meet and, when swimming through it, creates spectacular visual effects giving divers the feeling of diving in jelly.

The second dive starts at CENOTE LITTLE BROTHER leading over to CENOTE CHAC MOOL (Level 2). Chac Mool is named after a pre-Columbian Mesoamercan sculpture which was used as an altar to send offerings to the rain good. The meaning of Chac Mool is claimed to be “Thunderous Paw”, however, the original name of the Chac Mool sculpture remains unknown.

On this dive we enjoy a strong halocine, nice light effects, and surface in an air dome where we admire thousands of stalactites growing from the ceiling.
