Cenote Eden aka Ponderosa Diving

A spectacular pond of crystal-clear water, rich with freshwater plant life and native inhabitants such as sailfin mollies, tetras, and slider turtles, forms the entrance to this remarkable cavern.

Its spacious open-water area offers ideal conditions for both divers and snorkelers. It is also an excellent setting for training, from Discover Scuba Diving experiences through cavern, cave, and technical-diver courses.

At approximately 12 meters (40 feet), a dense halocline—where fresh and salt water meet—extends throughout the system, creating extraordinary visual distortions and dreamlike effects. Combined with the cavern’s striking natural light, this transition can make divers feel as though they have entered another world. The distinct temperature change between the fresh and salt water adds another memorable dimension to the dive.
