If you are interested in new experiences, excitement and exploration then the Advanced Open Water Diver (AOWD) course is for you.

The course is all about advancing your skills and is specifically designed to give Open Water Divers continued training and skill development under professional guidance. And it’s great fun too!

The course builds confidence and expands your scuba skills through five (5) different Adventure Dives. The deep and underwater navigation dives are mandatory, but you will try out three additional dive specialties (such as peak performance buoyancy, drift diving, enriched air nitrox, fish identification, and more), which you will choose with your instructor. Itis a great way to check out some of the many different things divers do and see what really interests you.

The Adventure Dives in the AOWD program have a unique relationship with various Specialty Diver courses. What you learn and practice in an Adventure Dive can be credited to the corresponding Specialty Diver course because it is the first dive from the course.

The objective of the AOWD course is to emphasizes learning by diving. For most Adventure Dives, all you need to do is read and complete the related section, including the Quick Reviews and Knowledge Review, in the Adventures in Diving manual.

Before the dive, your instructor will provide an overview of the dive objectives and review your Knowledge Review to assess your understanding.

You will make five (5) Adventure Dives to complete the Advanced Open Water Diver certification.
